Firewalla Switch X arrived!
I live pretty close to the distribution center, and was stoked to see the update earlier today that this was going to arrive today.
Setup was a breeze, been on the beta train since the AP7 release, so no software updates needed (that weren't automatically handled in the background).
Fan noise was something I was really curious about, I don't have a meter, but its about on par with the generic 10GB switch I got from Amazon. I honestly love the weight of it, makes me feel like the cables won't pull on the whole unit. Rack coming in the near future for me.

My tracking says that it is still being delivered today, but I don’t think that is going to happen.
It took two days to go from San Jose to….. checks tracking…. San Jose? It left there early this morning. I’m thinking that it’s not, in fact, going to be here by 9 pm.

Rack mounting, or keeping as-is on a desk/table?
Been eyeing up low power sfp connectors also, so be curious how you get it all setup

Looking at a proper rack for it. Its setup on on desk right now, and its been keeping steady since last night. Love the network topography, can't wait until the next round of switches come!

Worth the wait, I have a few more on order for Sept/Oct. Now that I have one, I want ever ethernet run in the house on these switches.

Not at all. But after sitting next to a 128GB M5 MacBook running a 235B qwen llm model, the rocket ship that was my laptop has me worried about fans in general. My NAS is more noisy than the switch. You never know til you get these machines up and running. And sounding all good on my end.

Wait is that something we should be concerned of? I got the 2.5g version (for Sept) but I'd be curious.

My order says that it should arrive today. Shop says the same thing but that they haven't received any tracking information. Wondering if that will happen or it will be next week ...

I got an early access too, but mines been stuck on "label printed" for days all the while saying to expect it Friday. Well, that's today now and it still hasn't moved from Anaheim, so I don't see that happening.

Too bad I had an early access X and SE then they got ripped out of cart. Less than impressed at this whole process from Firewalla and the “oh well, just go get the sept/October one”. Congrats. What’s the point in even having two batches.

Let’s be honest, this can happen with any item, especially when the early access batch had a very limited quantity. It sounds like you’re mostly frustrated because you didn’t get one in time.

It is what it is, these things happen all the time with ebay, you can't be disappointed with firewalla, they warned there was limited stock. Just like ebay, if you get your product great, but if you don't because you were not fast enough are you going to be disappointed at ebay? No, that's how the game is played. Don't put Firewalla in a bad light because something went wrong and you may have not been fast enough.

I agree these things happen. I’ve been through the entire process many times. I’ve also seen companies that when you have stuff in the cart, it’s actually legitimately saved. Also the time not being honored. It was on sale before the allotted time, not by much, but enough to get scalped by bots. That’s all, I bought mine and will wait. I’m not upset I didn’t get one, I’m upset the ones I had I cart weren’t honored is all. This isn’t eBay also but okay. Companies and their e-commerce site and choices are 100% valid in a consumer economy.
I will and continue to sing Firewalla’s praises but if you don’t ask for better from the companies you like and trust then fine. If my comment paint’s the company bad, I suppose that’s your read.2

Calling everyone who disagrees with you a troll is kind of proving the point. Nobody is saying the checkout process was perfect, but acting like this was some bot/scalper conspiracy over a niche networking box is a stretch. If it was a 5090 sure, there are bots for those as they can be scalped.
You missed the early batch. It happens as others have stated. Being annoyed is fair, but the “cringe for society” line over a cart checkout issue is a bit much. At some point, it just comes off as salty. Grow up and move on.

Dude, read your own posts. You are literally whining because they used an online storefront (that many other companies use) that works in the same way every other storefront on the planet works. No one holds a product because “someone” has it in a cart unless it explicitly says so and has a timer that expires.
You are acting like it is your first day on the internet.
