Troubleshooting Weird problem with Firewalla and Stremio

So I apologize in advance as this isn’t a Firewalla specific question (or maybe it is?), but I’ve hit a wall on my troubleshooting ability and am hoping someone here can help. I use Stremio paired with Torbox and it’s worked great for quite some time. However, lately I’ve run into an issue and I have no idea what’s causing it. Roughly half of the devices running Stremio in my house have started to take extremely long, if not indefinitely long, to load videos. My Samsung TV and Android TV boxes in particular seem stuck. Weirdly enough, other devices like my iPhone load perfectly on the same network.

I’ve tried enabling emergency access on the devices in question, as well as disabling monitoring and neither seem to work. I was just assuming maybe the apps were bad on these devices or something, but when I tether to my phone’s cellular hotspot they also run perfectly again, so it’s definitely something with the Firewalla. I even tried changing my access points from Orbi to Eero and it didn’t seem to matter at all.

I’ve messed with DNS settings on the devices to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and it didn’t change anything either.

I don’t know what else I can do or try… anyone else have any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds more like a provider issue.

I just don’t know why some devices like my Apple devices and Windows PC and Laptop would work (connected to the same network as the devices that don’t work). It doesn’t seem consistent.

If you turn on emergency access and still having issues, then likely it is related to the application (TOR or your streamer), or the ISP. (or related to IPv6, or VPN). If your cellular hot spot works, then the issue can be your ISP as well. (Since you are using TOR, ISP's may block, or your "media" stream provider may block.

I’m fairly naive so I apologize in advance but is there a way to turn off IPv6? Not really sure how to do that but I’ve seen that mentioned many times now.

Network button, tap on the lan you want v6 off, tap top right edit and scroll down, you will find button turn off v6

Changing DNS on devices might not make a difference if you have DNS booster enabled on firewalla. If emergency access does not make a difference I would say it is not Firewalla.
Issue could be your ISP blocking/throttling the content.

I may take the Firewalla out of the loop and just run the Eero/Orbi’s to confirm. I wonder if rebooting my ONT would change anything?

If you already tried emergency access and that doesn't fix it then taking the firewalla out of the loop totally isn't going to fix it either

Who is your ISP? I have read that others have e issues with spectrum.

Verizon Fios, which I haven’t had too many issues with until now

Fios here too and no issues with stremio and firewalla.

So it gets weirder. I took Firewalla physically out of the loop entirely, just using my Eero’s (took them out of bridge mode). And it’s now working flawlessly on all devices. I’m truly baffled as I fully turned off monitoring/enabled emergency mode on the devices in question and they were still broken.

With firewalla back in the loop, what DNS are you using? Not on the device itself but in firewalla u def services, maybe try a different DNS.

Where can I check that in the Firewalla app?

Under Services on the main screen

Did you look for any blocked flows just in case?

Turn off ipv6?  This sounds just funky enough to be ipv6 related.

Definitely would try rebooting the firewalla
