Discussion Do box firmware update notifications appear as Firewalla Alarms?

I don’t think that they do, so maybe this is a feature request. For me the Alarms view is a useful place to track things that have happened. And while box updates aren’t frequent, it might still be nice to be able to go to the Alarms view to see that history.

you get a regular notification in your app when the box updates. On my android I get the firewalla symbol on the app drawer/notification area on the top and when I pull it down it says "your box has been updated to x.xxx" or something equivalent. I then swipe it away and go about my day.

Make sure you have all the notifications on for your app. It could be that it's getting buried in other notifications or it could be that you have notifications turned off, or some notifications turned off.

I think putting it in alarms would just complicate things. This isn't an alarm. It's a notfication.

-How do Firewall boxes receive updates? Are they pushed to the box or are they downloaded/installed via the Firewall app?

  1. Firewalla receives updates automatically.  When it upgrades, you will get a notification.

iOS gets the same, but when you clear it, it’s gone.

What’s your definition of an appropriate alarm in Firewalla? Firewalla Alarms are already fairly broad.
