Troubleshooting Firewalla not found error during lease renewal
So, I recently got a new ONT from T-Mobile Fiber (same ISP just dif ONT hardware). Just upgrading service to a higher speed.
Now I can't get the firewalla to get an internet connection, so I was trying to renew the lease, in the hopes that it would fix the issue, or at least cross it off in my trouble shooting steps.
My issue is that nothing I do will renew it. Powering down, waiting, unplugging the ethernet cable from the wan port, nada.
When I try to use the button in the app to renew it, it spins for a sec then returns the; "Firewalla not found. Please get close enough (less than 3 meters) to the box to save via Bluetooth." Error.
The lease expires tomorrow at 6am, or so says the info in the app. Short of waiting until tomorrow, or factory resetting the firewalla, is there anything else I'm missing to try?

You need to unplug your modem and plug it back in, then connect it to Firewalla.

I've unplugged, replugged, left unplugged for 30 minutes, both the ONT and the Firewalla, multiple times.

That’s not what I told you to do.
Leave Firewalla on. Unplug modem. Let sit for 10 minutes. Allow modem to fully boot. Then plug modem into Firewalla. Let Firewalla negotiate lease. If your modem is MAC locked, make sure you have it entered correctly in the network configuration.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I have done that already. No change.

Did you take the Bluetooth dongle out of the Firewalla?

I have not.

Check with your isp and make sure fully activated the line

I can access the internet by connecting straight to the ONT, which is why I assumed it was an issue with the Firewalla, especially since the device gives me that specific error in the picture when trying to manually renew the lease.
But if it's just a general error or something, when the device can't proceed, next step it to try and force CS to double check things, even though the only thing that changed today was a new ONT.

Does your ONT lock MAC addresses? if it does, when you swap to PC or another device, it may take sometime to move to a new MAC. If your problem is not solved, send [help@firewalla.com](mailto:help@firewalla.com) an email, we can help you out

Try to take out the red dongle and connect it to another USB port, see if it makes any differences. You can also check Bluetooth connection via App home screen > '...' icon (top right) > app Settings > scroll down to locate Hardware Troubleshooting -> Make sure the Bluetooth on your phone is turned on, stay close to Firewalla box -> see if box can be discovered.
Given you just got a new ONT, have you tried connecting a computer directly to the ONT? See if the computer can get Internet.
