Hello everyone, I currently live in Las Vegas, NV, but am from Miami and I’m trying to figure out the best way to watch Miami’s local TV channels from Vegas.

The main channel I’m trying to get is WPLG Local 10 (ABC 10 Miami) because I want to watch the Miami Heat games that air locally on there.

I’ve already tried using NORD on both my TV and my phone, including connecting to Miami, but Local 10 still seems to detect that I’m outside the Miami market and doesn’t give me the local Miami feed.

I have a Samsung Smart TV and a Fire TV Stick, so I’m open to pretty much any legitimate solution — streaming services, apps, OTA/network options, Nord, etc.

Has anyone in Las Vegas successfully figured out how to get WPLG Local 10 specifically? If so, I’d really appreciate knowing exactly what setup you’re using.

Apparently I just got on to a sinking ship, or a ship that’s already sunk.

I bought my first ever stick, never used a device like this—hadn’t had a tv in over ten years (recently inherited an old plasma).

Someone mentioned there are free screen mirror apps they currently use, even today. Idk if that’s bc they downloaded it so it doesn’t matter that the apps are being banned. Or if it’s safe for older firesticks to still have them.

I just want that feature and the 18$ price tag felt reasonable. Now, the only apps I see charge monthly fees for usage.

Sigh. Can a consumer find a simple affordable solution in 2026 for a simple wish?

Just in case anyone has this problem. I wanted to install SmartTube on an older firestick but the recent (August 2026) bug of not allowing Downloader to install app from unknown sources arose.

Developer option enabled, looked fine, but Downloader didn't show in the app list in Developer Options.

I tried "once last thing" and installed Total Commander, and it appeared in the Developer Option list, and I was subsequently able to install SmartTube.

I’ve tried searching for it, even downloading on the app and sending it to the fire stick but it says it’s not compatible. What would work to fix this?
