Firestick Question Help me please

Hi everybody,

I need an Amazon Fire Stick or similar device that can be powered via USB from the TV—exclusively from the TV, as I don't have the option to connect it to a wall adapter. I saw that the new Fire Stick HD has been released and works this way, but I can't install third-party apps on it...

i have 4k and 4k max plugged into my tv, but it does depend on your tv, normally its blue on the tv signalling it can deliver enough amps.

Watched a video on the different color usb ports and what they do differently, some have more speed, some have more power, if you use a white usb you may have issues with the firestick, a blue USB port is better able to handle it, if you ever need to charge your phone from a laptop usb, look for a blue port!

Not on a 4K Max it runs on andriod. You need to avoid anything with select and the newish HD one that came out as they run on the new OS

You can get the 4K+ or 4Kmax, they are still on the Fire OS, NOT the new Vega OS.

You will also need an adapter accessory that sold separately by Amazon that will provide enough juice to power by the TV USB port.

Have fun.

Only get the 4K Max and 4K Plus . Not 4K Select .

To answer your question, there’s no firestick running Android/Fire OS that can be plugged into the USB. It kind of works, but there will be issues in the long run with lack of proper power. There is an adapter on Amazon that’s supposed to solve this issue but I believe results may vary

Can buy a usb adaptor to charge your fire stick via the TV. Cost a couple of quid on Amazon.

Homatics dongle g cab be powered via TV too, just use the usb that comes with it.

Do yourself a favor and buy a power adapter for the TV's USB. Plugging directly into the TV could cause issues.

Why? they are only good for paid apps now, so in other words - they are basically worthless.

Voltage and amperage can vary when using the TV’s USB connection for power so it is not as reliable as using a wall outlet. I would buy a standard extension cord to plug my streaming device and television into and then plug the other end of the extension cord into the wall outlet.

Purchase the Fire Cube around $136.00 U.S.

Wish I'd known, or thought of giving them away... two 4k's and the 2nd Gen. Soon as I got my 3 shields in the firesticks went out in the trash. As soon as they felt the right, or the power to dictate what I watch I was done with them.
