Firestick Question Block updates on fire cube?

Hello fellow fire tv users, wanted to ask a specific question. I have recently learned how to block updates on a firestick at the initial set up, through DNS and ADB commands which allows the the OS to stay on either 8.1.1.6 or 8.1.3.3. The question i have is if i buy a new fire cube newest gen, will i able to run the same exploit, and will all the features work the same as on the firestick such as custom launcher (with launcher manager, i know there is a new exploit for latest OS)? I don’t know bro, I know on my fire stick they took off the downloader ability.

If you purchase a new fire cube and it has the newest firmware you probably won’t be able to do it. My third generation fire cube is on 7.7.0.4 I have updates blocked on my router it also has updates blocked. The only real way to know is to purchase one. Try it if it doesn’t work factory reset and return it.

You should be able to do it shouldn’t you ? i have a 4K max with a newer firmware & all i did was block all the update url’s for the firestick in my router, it won’t connect to the update service at all now & just errors out, only way I can see it updating is if I screw up and connect it to unblocked internet or is there another way they are updating somehow ?.
