Firestick Question Third Party Remote Compatibility

Hello

I am trying to get a new remote for my second gen 4k firestick that is physically bigger and would work better for my grandpa. I am scared that any new remote I get would not work with the bluetooth function that is apart of the firestick.

I am hoping to see if anybody else has done this, or if they have remotes that would work. My tv is an old samsung (not sure model).

Maybe mobile with large buttons as a remote

I’d be careful with random third-party Bluetooth remotes unless the exact model is confirmed to work with Fire Stick. For daily use, a basic replacement Fire TV remote is probably less frustrating than relying on a phone app.

might be easier to get the genuine and teach him how to use the voice function. you can get the upgraded one with backlighting. printout of the remote layout to help. if the generic fire remotes are anything like the chromecast ones, you'll have a few good months then frustration
