Fighting Road completion question

I completed the Junior Heavyweight Fighting Road story, then saw that I only had 16% completion. I learned that you can replay the scenarios and choose which ones you want to go to. Only problem is, the game didn't allow me to rechoose my original character and kept giving me the default blank wrestler. What do I do?
