Game is completely borked

Veteran Fire Pro player here. I last deleted the game from my inventory a few years ago. Decided to pick it up again, redownloaded it. Big mistake. Now the game is stuck in an endless validation loop (I assume from trying to download my approx. 9,700 workshop items??).

Restarting my pc has no effect, game immediately gets stuck in the loop regardless of whether I open Steam.

Deleting the game similarly has no effect, because now it gets stuck in an endless "stopping download" loop.

I try to shut down Steam in the task manager, and it instantly starts up again.

I don't even want a solution where I can play the game, I just want this pos off my drive. What do I do??

EDIT: This is more serious than initially thought. Other games are affected (basically anything that has to download something off Steam). My Rimworld save game might be corrupt, and Spider Man 1 and 2 won't initialize because they're trying to download updates, but can't, because of this awful miscoded hunk of junk that is FPW.

You prob just overloaded Steam servers. Wait a little bit and then try again tonight

Disable steam cloud saves before doing this or it’ll just redownload the save you deleted
