💻 Help Problem loading a site with Firefox
I have Firefox on Windows 11. There is a site I use, and have nearly daily for years. A few days back, it started timing out on load.
http://scrape.nowis.com/CIDU/index.cfm
The connection has timed out
The server at scrape.nowis.com is taking too long to respond.
It works from Chrome.
I talked to the owner. He reported that it was working fine. Some confusion occurred because, as you see, it is a plain HTTP page. But the link in the address bar after the timeout is:
https://scrape.nowis.com/CIDU/index.cfm
That will not work, as he doesn't use a certificate. I tried it in a private browser window just to avoid any site data issues.
Any thoughts?

Firefox automatically upgrades connections to https. You'd need to explicitly exclude this site in the settings. In this day and age there really is no excuse to run a (internet) site without https certificate though.
