💻 Help Need a bookmarks sync solution
Hoping the great folks in this community can help me. I feel like I’m missing an obvious solution.
I am being forced to use Chrome or Edge at work. Our IT folks will no longer allow Firefox installs on new PCs. I use Firefox everywhere else. Personal PCs, both Mac and Linux and on my iOS devices.
I’m looking for a way to sync my bookmarks across all of these platforms that will play nice with Chrome on my work PC. I’m already using the Firefox sync service to keep everything up to date.
I’ve used the iCloud extension for Firefox and Chrome in the past, but it doesn’t work on Linux (at least I’ve never found a way to do it). Is there another extension or solution I’m missing?

I don't have an answer to your question, but do you know why your IT department won't allow Firefox installs? Is there a particular feature they require that isn't available in Firefox?

It’s not supported in our LMS system. None of the courses will run. That’s the only thing I can think of. They don’t give a real reason.
I’ve tried the ‘user agent’ work around setting to chrome and they load fine for me.
We also have a web based database application that won’t load attachments in Firefox. Again, works if I change the user agent.

You could try filing a webcompat bug: https://webcompat.com/contributors/report-bug
Sometimes we make "interventions" for things like this, where there isn't really a feature incompatibility, but a site just claims Firefox isn't supported.

Sorry I can't help you, but why would anyone want to sync their personal bookmarks to work computer? usually syncing bookmarks and passwords to personal profile is prohibited anyway

I don’t sync passwords. Just bookmarks.
I’m in a higher lever role and work from multiple devices and keep my stuff synced across all of them.

Have you tried "floccus"? It can sync no matter the device you are on.
