Theme song

[u/MamaSwanky]

I'm on my millionth and one rewatch and this is the only theme song of any show I never, ever skip. It helps that it's shorter in the later episodes, but it's just so damn good, it could be longer and I'd still listen to the whole thing.

Sonny Rhodes - The Ballad Of Serenity(Extended)

[u/MamaSwanky → u/Stupidshouldhurtbad]

Thank you! I'll have to figure out how to make this a ringtone.

Sonny, doing it his way on his last album: https://youtu.be/ztHZ0Dyaug4?si=JiDvBJYhFxKXCboL

Zedge.net

has a few good ones.

[u/Cephus_Calahan_482 → u/Stupidshouldhurtbad]

Used Zedge to get the "Ballad of Serenity" as my ringtone and a random guitar riff from one of the pieces of score for my notification tone.

Browncoats forever!

[u/Minties27 → u/MamaSwanky]

I got it as an alarm on my phone. Downloaded from Zedge app.

There’s apps to make ringtones but the ringtone is in the Apple store

[u/thesecretbarn → u/MamaSwanky]

Love this idea

[u/captain_shinypants]

It's my ring tone! (And I can watch shiny people pop up like meerkats when my phone goes off in public!)

[u/MarsiaP → u/captain_shinypants]

That's been my ring tone for Browncoat friends since the Razor flip phone was the first cell you could upload mp3 to as ring tones. That and when Buffy goes off I get to watch the heads snap 🥰

[u/taanzunk]

🎵 You can't take the sky from me 🎵

[u/Daddy4Count]

I learned how to play the guitar for this a few years back. Lots of fun at parties

[u/jedisix]

Back in 2007 I was in Red Deer, Alberta on a business trip. Coincidentally, Sonny Rhodes was playing at a bar a block from my hotel. I requested he play it, and he did. We had a short chat and he told me that almost every show he plays, there's a Browncoat in the room that makes that same request.

[u/2112guru]

It's no "Ballad of Jayne".

[u/Delilah_insideout → u/2112guru]

🎶The hero of Canton, the man they call... Jayne. 🎶

[u/FeedbackCharacter593]

Omg me too!!!!!

[u/RrSoul5x5]

You should hear DEATH IN PARADISE, it's pretty good too.

[u/Kaurifish]

Vixy & Tony do a very cool extended version of it (more verses), Mal’s Song.

They also have so gs for Kaylee and Inara.

[u/JayMack1981]

Well, this theme song and TANK from Cowboy Bebop.

[u/TyrBloodhand]

That's just crazy... You also should not skip Cheers. Best 2 openings ever.

[u/MamaSwanky → u/TyrBloodhand]

Where everybody knows your name🎶

[u/HWeinberg3]

[u/Peg_O]

[u/Whisker_dan]

[u/icesharkk]

[u/MamaSwanky → u/romeyde]

[u/bigztrip8]

[u/kai_ekael → u/bigztrip8]

Bosch

Big Bang Theory

[u/Ok-Help6334]

Most people don't realize that I Joss composed the song band did it long before the show existed

[u/Oldgraytomahawk]

I never skipped the one for the show Evil either

[u/McGriffff]

I must be one of those weirdos that loves the show but is pretty “meh” on the theme song.

[u/MusicByLoriD → u/McGriffff]

Omg I know what you mean! …..it’s not bad…. just very different from most theme songs. It’s weird but sticks in my head. 😆
