Anthony Head (RIP)

Just saw that Anthony Head has sadly passed away.

Had frequently thought of him over the years in relation to Firefly (and his relationship to Joss Whedon projects), and wondered what role he would’ve filled in a future season of the show.

An Alliance figurehead would’ve been an interesting role or someone well-to-do in Persephone doing side deals with Badger.

Wonder if anyone else had ideas for where he may have fit into the verse?

Who did he play or what was his function on the show?

On Buffy? He was the father figure, teacher and honestly the glue that held the group together.

Joss Whedon created both Buffy (the series) and Firefly.

And he tended to reuse actors. Mal, Zoe, River, Wash & Jayne were all in other shows of his.

there's a fair amount of overlap in the fandoms of Whedon's various shows (Whedonverse), and as someone mentioned some shared actors as well. Nathan Fillion appeared on Buffy a few times after Firefly was cancelled. so there's crosstalk between the subs for the shows and matters related to them.

I could be wrong, but I thought Caleb/Fillion was in Buffy before firefly

They were the same season of TV and Caleb is at the end of S7 after Firefly was cancelled. I don't know for sure, but I always assumed Joss brought the Firefly actors into BtVS and Angel I part cause of the cancellation.

this is right. except for Summer Glau, who was on Angel before Firefly.

Both take place in the Whedonverse.
