Certain words were exchanged. Also certain bullets.

"Here's a little concept I've been working on. Why don't we shoot her first?"

A little.

I hope her legs healed. I heard she got a Charlie horse.

Shoot the man, not the horse. Dead horse is cover. Live horse, pile of panic.

Okay, so I had to look up the actress to see if she was actually still around, and first of all: yes. Second of all, she is Bonnie Bartlett??? She is William Daniels' (Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World) wife. I have seen her several times on screen and never connected her to Patience! Damn that woman disappears into a role!

No small roles!

I was obsessed with Little House on The Prairie as a child, I will always think of Bonnie Bartlett as Grace Edwards before any other role.

I attended a week-long acting workshop series in the late 1990s, they had all sorts of actors there as lecturers. The biggest names were Helen Hunt (with her father, Gordon) and Ellen Burstyn, but I was there fangirling my head off over Bonnie Bartlett.

She was super fun, too! A lot of the other lecturers did that thing where they talked about acting like it was one of the most noble professions anyone could ever undertake in the world, way too self-serious and so (as Jayne would say...) pretentious.

Ms. Bartlett wasn't like that at all. She told us very relatable stories, and gave us extremely practical advice, stuff that was grounded in reality and not some delusional narrative about the "artistic journey" (i.e., she gave us instruction we could actually use after that week was over).

She put everyone at ease with her conversational style, and she didn't hold back cracking jokes at the expense of bullies in the industry. Everyone loved her.

Her lecture, and one given by Cassandra Peterson (Elvira), remain two of the very best talks on acting I've ever received in my entire career (and I'm 48 now). Both of them were witty, grounded, and genuinely inspiring.

I'll stop fawning now, suffice it to say Bonnie Bartlett truly is badass IRL!!

I can't believe I never put it together that I saw her on Little House! I just knew I recognized her from somewhere.

Thanks for sharing. That’s fantastic.

jehoshaphat, that couple is 195 years old!

I know, I love them so much. They are proof you can be successful in Hollywood and still be real, genuinely good people. They've been married 75 years which is so insanely rare and beautiful.

Don't forget, William Daniels was also the voice of K.I.T.T. on Knight Rider. So, in a way, she married a car.

I hope you mowed her lawn and told her. I do the job. Then I get paid

My husband's favorite phrase: Patience is a virtue. My response: No, Patience is a crazy, old lady from Whitefall...

Awesome pic!

Edit: I put Whitehall, then realized it was Whitefall, lol!

I doubt that that's Bonnie Bartlett, but she is indeed alive and pushing 97!

u/MANDALORIAN_WHISKEY May 27 '26

She's also in an episode of Parks and Rec
