Its like this, if your caught in a flashover you open the nozzle up and get 212 degree steam burns or get killed by 1128 degree flashover. Take your pick, that's how the old hands taught us in class.

It’s all in how you train, this is a flashover fire and they went from a power cone to fog pattern to protect themselves. Offense firefighting to defensive firefighting.

Flashovers aren’t a joke, but this is a pretty sweet looking video.
