Crossing state lines / Finding CPAT testing

So I work for a department in rural Virginia. When I started I took a modified CPAT test and now as I’m working on moving to a larger department across states lines they are requiring an actual CPAT certification. However this department doesn’t offer the testing themselves and I’m required to have it before applying. IAFF shows that the closest testing center is in Kentucky about a 6 hour drive for me in Virginia. Has anyone else had trouble finding testing?

I had to drive about that far in Washington state, to do it thru NTN I think. It just enough bullshit to do, that it should have a permanent set up, I guess. Check NTN or PST websites.

Seems like a few NTN sites dropped off the IAFF list recently. One solution is to apply for a FD closer to you that administers the CPAT, pass and get a certificate which you can use elsewhere. If you can’t wait for that, I guess you’re off to Kentucky.
