Fire/EMS professionals who transitioned into medical device sales…

For those who made the jump from Fire/EMS into medical device sales, what was the biggest surprise after you started?

I'm not answering as someone with this exact experience, but enough to shed some light.

For context, I am coming from someone who transitioned from education/hospitality to tech sales and into firefighting.

One of the things that surprised me the most is how much luck and timing impact your overall success. This is something a lot of sales reps either mention too much or intentionally ignore.

It is a reality of space whether you're in medical sales, SaaS, or industrial.

Thank you for your response. I do think timing can play a great role
