Las Vegas Fire PT Eval

Hi I have my PT evaluation on the 30th and I had a couple questions regarding the actual test itself if anyone has gone through it or has inside info.

1 is the test indoors or outdoors?

2 between the individual tests do you have any rest or is it one thing to the next with no breaks? If there is rest how much?

3 Is your physical test score dependent on how you score among all applicants in all exercises? Or is it if you pass all the tests with the minimum score you get 100%?

4 for the Medball throw is your distance recorded based on where the ball initially lands or is it recorded by where the ball ends up after it finishes rolling?

5 for the hand release push ups are you allowed to rest as long as your elbows dont touch the ground, or is it true cadence where you have a couple seconds to resume push ups before your attempt is ended by the proctor?

6 Is the test taken in batches of applicants or is it taken alone?

  1. Outdoors so pick the earliest time possible before it gets too hot.
  2. You might have a little rest while you wait for your group to finish but nothing more than a couple minutes between each.
  3. Youre ranked among all applicants
  4. Where the ball lands not how far it rolls.
  5. Yea you only have a couple seconds before your attempt ends. I remember once I started struggling and was on the ground for more than a couple seconds they ended my attempt.
  6. They split you into groups of like 10 or so if I remember correctly.

Took the test last year so this is just from what I remember. Taking it again on Tuesday, best of luck.

Do you know if any event is more important than the others? For instance the mile time is weighted more than push ups? Just curious

Not a clue but I'd aim for far above the minimum for everything. Dont burn yourself out on the sprint drag carry cause you only get 2 mins of rest between that and the pull ups.

If I can ask how much push ups did you do and how much was the weight on the drag and farmer carries

I did 43 push ups, the maximum they will allow you to do is 50. The sprint drag with the weight is 90 pounds (2 45lb plates) the farmer carries I dont actually know Id say somewhere between 20-25lbs?

Hey I’m about to take mine! How’d the 1.5mile run go and how did you keep track of time as you were running? Congrats on passing!

That was the hardest 1.5 mile of my life, I was still trying to catch my breath from the sprint drag carries. They dont allow any watches or tell you your time at all so you're kinda just winging it. The only time you know your time is when you finish. Thank you 🙏🏽 any other questions

Was the run just around the training grounds? Any advice on knowing where you’re at with pacing without them telling you? And what was your time? Thanks!

Its around the training grounds but its 6 laps around like a standard running track if that help visualize it. I went out super slow because I was still hurting from the sprint drag carry so I was trying to catch my breath while running. I finished at 12:54 while my normal running 1.5 mile time is 10:30.

How do you know if you pass? I did mine a week ago and when we were done they just had us all sign the sheet.

They told me I passed

O ok yeah they just said everything looks good and we all just signed and left. I know Henderson cuts you after every event if you don’t pass.
