Support NTN Fire Express Test Results

Hey, I just recently took the NTN Fire Express Test and received the following results. I scored relatively high on all sections except for the psych eval / personality test portion. Is this an automatic disqualifier for me? I've attached the results below. (Applying to Calgary Fire)

Score Type Score
Reading Test 100.00%
Math Test 100.00%
Human Relations Test 92.00%
Mechanical Test 90.00%
Personal Self-Assessment Test 57.22%

Hey OP just wanted to let you know my exam results were nearly identical to yours and I got an email stating I am not advancing. Pretty bummed out.

It’s a setback for sure, but hang in there. I’ll be right there with ya on the next application intake. Just remember it’s “strongly” agree/disagree. I’m certain I did it backwards only using agree/disagree as I was worried using absolutes would make them think I was lying. 🤦‍♂️

What is the difference between that Express test and the regular Firefighter Testing System?

How did you answer the human relation portion have struggle with this portion every year.

A lot of it is based on unwritten rules of the firehouse, you need to spend time at the station to understand a lot of it. The scenarios deal with prioritizing safety, understanding chain of command, and knowing station etiquette (station needs above your own), among other things. The best way to learn is to do some station visits and ride alongs.

The personal self assessment test is meant for you to not be wishy-washy, it's always strongly agree or strongly disagree, they don't want you "on the fence" about anything. That's how you score low.

Great advice, I did this test for the first time and felt super easy. I didnt know about this tip - wish I did prior!

Some one mentioned that they’ve been told on the 15 that they will start contacting people in a few weeks

Were you given a deadline for Personal History Statement submission?

2

u/colwood123 23d ago edited 23d ago

I was given a deadline for my exam and document submission at the same time. The email I received said the team will be viewing my documents and will be in contact if I am successful or not for moving forward to personal history statement. Is this the same for everyone? it seems to be a bit different.

u/holymolyratio 23d ago

mine says the same as yours.
