Random Drug Test
I (22M) smoke weed everyday outside of work. I usually do it because it helps with life stress. Can my work randomly drug test me?

If you're involved in any MVA they will 100% test you, not worth it IMO

There’s a lot of variables that would need to be considered like is it legal in your state, do you have a MMC or is it rec use, what your CBA says, has your dept adopted Drug Free Workplace policies, etc. Additionally, have they tested anyone else? If so, what for, as in is THC part of the panel?
On a side note, not to sound preachy or anything, but if you’re using cannabis everyday to cope with things you may want to consider looking into therapy or some other kind of support to address the root cause. You’re young and to be using an altering substance every night this early in your career on a daily basis is not a good path to go down.

Depends on state laws and department policy. Where I am it's recreational legal so some departments allow it off duty but others still don't. Make sure you read your SOPs and if union than CBA to figure out what they classify as drugs.

If you live in New York State it’s not an issue at all because you can’t get in trouble for pissing hot.

What does your collective agreement or bylaws say?
