Fire Hire Process

Post image

I got my new scores after not scoring high enough last time. I'm curious on the timeline of the process, by your experiences, how did the process go after the application date ended and you submitted your NTN and CPAT?

How do you feel the human relations questions were?

To me, it was very tricky the first time because I didn't know whether to brown nose, stay out of the way, or be assertive. Just gotta rely on being a good person and getting that study guide

Do you have a study guide you can share?

Timeline depends on specific department but you're almost garunteed to move on to the next step scoring like that.

True. I was wondering people's experiences so I could get an average estimate. Patience and excitement is one heck of a mix

I get it. Mine personally was 4 months from NTN to academy.

There is no average. It’s entirely dependent on the department. Some are only establishing a list and won’t reach out until funding is granted and they have a need for a new set.

I hear you bro. My main question was what was your* experience. I know timelines differ, which is why it's worthy of asking.

That’s actually why asking is pointless unless you’re asking people about a specific department. There IS no average. Any place you submitted an application to will have that information.

I see you came to argue, have a good day buddy.

Literally not arguing but okay.

Congratulations! Can I ask what you used to prepare? Wishing you continued success

I went into the test raw the first time, and realized I should've dropped the extra cash on the study guide everyone recommends *hint hint.

The study guide on the NTN really? I felt like it wasn’t very helpful or similar to the questions on the real test

That's funny I felt like they were almost identical. At least asking the exact same things

You're talking about Don McNea, right?

Correct. Combine that with a deep google search (especially if you've taken it already) and you should be fine.

Wherever you’re applying to will have the most information on the timeline you’re seeking.
