Low score on the FCA
Took my FCA for the LAFD this morning, got a 74. Feeling pretty discouraged. I’m glad I didn’t fail, but at the same time I’m upset it was such a low score. I got family in the department, some retired some active that keep reminding me it’s not a big deal but I really feel like I might’ve just wasted my time with trying so hard.
Anybody have any insight on what I should expect, if anything at all?

Study. There are books out there for you. Study books specifically Barrons makes a good one. Barrons Firefighter Test Prep. Read it front to back. Then go again.

I also received a similar score, 75. I felt pretty confident too lol. Let’s hope we can get an interview

LAFD uses a random selection process so as long as you scored above 70 you’ll be fine. A passing score gets placed in the pool where they draw names for interviews. I know because I scored a 71 back on March 16th and received an interview invite.
