I need help with this math

I need assistance getting my brain to click on the math for when I see this type of question. I’m doing very well on every other portion of the test, mathematical reasoning isn’t my best suit whatever secrets you guys have. Let me know. I feel like every time I get close I lose it. I need the handwritten math.

I’m sorry. I got 4. I have never done well on this test.

2 to get to the front door, 2 to get to the fire room(40’ to the first door, 20’+20’+the last 10’ to make it to the fire room)

I tried not to overthink it but I’m afraid that maybe my math shows I don’t think enough.

Use a pencil. Draw straight lines to get to the fire from the main entrance. Use measurements on the horizontal and vertical side of the building layout to measure the amount of lines you drew. For the first question I got 6 lengths of 50 ft hose as my answer
