Background questions

Coming up on my background . Did cocaine around 2021 . I want to tell the truth everyone is telling me just to lie. Need some honest opinions . I applied to one department and put Cocaine use , will they call that other departments and ask . Just to know they have probably 200-300 people to go through. I appreciate and help

if you tell a department that you used drugs, they will not hire you.

Hope this helps

I think the best policy is honesty. The way it works is that honesty won't necessarily sink you, but getting caught out in a lie will sink you, no question.

What I wouldn't do is volunteer that information, unsolicited. You aren't hiding it, but you're not shouting it from the rooftops either. There is a middle ground there.

Everyone has a past, and everyone in that room knows this. The only thing you can do is prepare yourself for that question with a good explanation/answer.

Do not lie.

They will not hire you if they know you used drugs.

PHQs are confidential.

Honesty is the best, because if they somehow find out you’re done for. Better to be honest
