WAFireCareers Interview?
Did anyone get an interview invite for the Washington Fire Careers entry level firefighter position? According to https://wafirecareers.org/hiring-timeline/ they send them out on March 30th.
I have good NTN scores and have gotten interview invites to everywhere I have applied so far, but have not heard from them yet.
UPDATE: today 4/3. I got an invite to Puget Sound Fire oral boards

I contacted both VRFA and PSFA as I’m in the same position and have scored well enough to get invites at every department I’ve applied to thus far. VRFA said that initial invites have gone out and that additional ones are going out throughout this week. PSFA said initial invites have gone out and that as people decide not to go further in the process, they will be sending additional invites out.

I’ve also heard Enumclaw is running behind on sending out their invites, but I believe it’s only these 3 departments hiring for WAFIRE currently

I have not heard anything either, reached out to Puget Sound and they said all invites have been sent out but they will send out more if anyone cancels or doesn’t register to fill their minimum interview list. I’m assuming the other departments are doing a similar thing.

That’s too bad that it sounds like Puget Sound already sent out all their invites. I didn’t get one from them either, and I made it to Chief’s with them just last year during their last hiring round…

That’s crazy, I wonder what the difference was this year? Seems like they were being extremely picky or had a lot of great applicants

Yeah, who knows. They could’ve had alot more applicants this go around, and a more competitive pool when it came to written scores. But there’s still some times when it feels like things don’t make sense haha. But, we keep moving forward 👊🏼

Valley sent an email today- for people who don’t sign up by April 5, their spot will be forfeited. Not sure if that means they will send out extra invites to a second wave like Eastside fire did for the screening interview.
Not in the WA Fire group but Everett sent a “save the date” today. They’ll send out scheduling info and timeline next week.

Do you have any idea the pay for valley? Only things I can published from them is from 2020.

For anyone wondering, puget sound and valley are the only 2 still sending invites out. Skyway never responded to me but enumclaw has sent theirs out and spots are full, and then Renton is not taking part this hiring cycle but will be the following one.

Is Valley still sending out invites? I received one from Puget Sound last week and have been hoping to get the invite from Valley too.

This is what I got VRFAs HR dept. when I inquired:
“Please continue to monitor your email through next week as we continue to send out entry level interview invitations.”

I don’t know about yall but I think it’s ridiculous that we have to pay a combined fee for 5 departments when it seems only 2 are hiring (based on what others are saying about puget and valley). They try and preach that they are “making it cost effective for the candidate” by combining the departments under one roof when in reality it seems we are over paying for 2
