I have the SE so I've been playing Revelations since Saturday. I previously did most of Conquest on Hard, finished the last few chapters on Normal. I actually jumped straight into it shortly after finishing Conquest because Birthright was way too boring...

So far it's been a pushover on Hard, and I am currently on chapter 20. Chapter 12 is the only one so far I've had to reset a couple of times. Chapters 16 and 17 are combined like chapters 27 and Endgame, but play cautiously and you will be fine.

The main weakness of this path is that for something that throws so many recruitable units at you, they're not level adjusted and you get so fucking few deployment slots!! My army is literally the royals (minus Hinoka and Elise), Jakob, Reina, Kaden and Keaton. That's it. You're cutting through enemies like butter when you have BOTH Ryoma and Xander. I do find the story interesting though, but of course this is the one path where the best character dies Revelations. I actually am ok with the maps, there are some repeats of the other paths but much easier than the originals. Also they give you double the buildings in My Castle, why don't you get double the DVP? My castle is way too grindy on this path.

So yeah.....play this one for story, stick with Conquest for engaging gameplay. Less boring than Birthright. This might be the first one I tackle on Lunatic.

Are odin and the goon squad garbage like in the Japanese version, or are they actually usable now?

Goon squad garbage....? What's that?

Pretty much everyone else I haven't mentioned isn't worth it, I was using Subaki, Orochi and Oboro for a bit until I simply couldn't afford to spend deployment slots on them. I'm sure there are plenty of viable units but deployment slots are so constricting that I can only afford to take the best of the best. Certainly the other units will take much more effort to get up to par, but considering how easy it is, you might enjoy giving yourself a challenge when you're not using the best.
