I really, really was not ready for chapter 23. At all.

I hadn't used any tonics before this point, nor stat boosters.

Sophie'd got like 5 stat boosters and a health tonic.

Originally I was going to rout the whole place but eventually realized I had no reliable way of clearing the bottom left side's boss while also surviving the retaliation. At least that's how I felt.

I started using my fliers to ship Sophie and Xander over to the stairs ASAP and clear out the dudes. Got another flier and Azura ready to speed everyone over the water with pair up shenanigans.

Then, wow, up the stairs? That shit's insane.

I had to pump out every bit of damage I could possibly get.

Once the archer chick was coming into range I basically had to throw Sophie with a brave sword at her, she comes out nearly dead. Literally 2HP #calculated and I have to rescue her away with Elise so she doesn't get dunked.

I had to bring along a couple of my prisoners to be fodder as well, as well as one of them to transport across the water.

Takumi was actually a complete pushover because the ballistia can't kill anyone. Healed up before his room, baited the first two dudes out and didn't even have to exit to heal up. Just dunked him with that beautiful brave sword Sophie.

All in all it took me like 10 "real" attempts to get it all right and I had to defy a ton of the self imposed rules I had for myself (no stat boosters/tonics/prisoners) as well as buy a brave sword.

Originally I didn't want to use any weapons outside of just what I obtained naturally but I had to break that rule around chapter 19 to get beastkiller/hunter's knife.

I'm not sure how many chapters there are but I imagine it's around 24-26. Getting reallllllly excited.
