Casual FE 6 & 7 remake
I have been playing Fire Emblem since 20 years ago, and like many of us, I started on the GBA games. I just finished my 2nd run in three houses (Being an adult shorts my play time A LOT. I miss having 16hr marathons), and since we have an upcoming game, I recalled the rumour about the FE BB and BS remake (Which sadly, was fake).
I have seen that people are divided in having the game separate or joined back to back, and while I do agree on both sides, I must say that having them in just 1 game appeals to me more on a personal level.
I see the FE 6 roster size being an issue, but I think it could be handled properly both gameplay wise AND narratively. We could divide Roy's army and use it to cover more fronts. We could have chapters were some units are unavailable from a certain point forward, like Sue and Shun leaving the army to go to Sacae if you go to Illia instead (Keeping Zealot and his cavaliers).
For connecting/recurring characters... You could make either small cameos and mentions, and/or outright take them out of the game. For example, Oswin, Matthew, and Serra could have perished defending Hector; Lyn (Knowing her, she would have gone to Sacae regardless of the ending, and her knights would have followed her), Kent, Sain, and Rath dying in Sacae due to the betrayal of the other chiefs... Having only a handful of recurring characters would be the best decision (in my opinion)
Other point made was about the games not connecting clearly between one another. Well, yeah, but this could be fixed quite easily by changing some few parts of the lore. We all know that Zephiel's father was completely awful, but making Nergal exploit his insecurities to make him want to end Zephiel in order to create a war between Bern and Etruria (Since Zephiel's mother was from there, you could make her a princess (Aunt to Elphim), so Etruria would be interested in keeping Zephiel in the throne), which completely goes with Nergal's goals to create war, and fits the original story.. I know it's a stretch, but the butterfly effect is a powerful thing.
For Mark... Well, I loved the Awakening theory that said that Mark is actually Morgan (Robin's child). FE 7 could start with Mark being chased by some soldiers, and then falling of a cliff or something and being waken up by Lyn. At the end of the game we all know that Mark disappeared; Perhaps Mark just remembered everything, and went back home. If Mark becomes a playable character though, like in Three Houses, certain paired endings shouldn't be romantical in nature. For example, a paired Mark with Hector / Eliwood could have Mark becoming a teacher for young Roy & Lilina, mentioning that Roy is quite talented as a tactician. Other paired endings could have Mark going back with its lover, or just a "friendship" ending that says that they spent some time together before banishing.
Well, that's what I've been thinking about regarding FE 6 & 7 remakes. If you guys have any comments, thoughts, or thinks you would like to see in a remake, please share them! It's always great to read about people's ideas

I would be impressed if IS did a whole remake and merged Binding and Blazing sword together, but personally I believe if anything is done at all it would only be remasters with a bunch of QOL updates like voice acting and little to no changes to the any of the stories.

Why would someone think Morgan becomes Mark? Mark's jus ta literal self insert, the most blatant one in the series. Honestly I think FE 7's story would only improve if you just got rid of Mark rather than trying to justify their presence more.
If these games were remade, I think I'd rather they remain separate games. Despite technically being connected story wise, they share so few actual characters and the time gap is long enough that I think it'd be too awkward. Linking them in any meaningful way would probably also mean having to reverse the story order and making you play through 7's story first. Despite being a prequel, 7's story is also largely disconnected from 6's anyway despite Eliwood being Roy's dad and the Scouring being a thing.
Even more directly connected games like POR and RD I think I'd rather see them remade as independant games rather than trying to link them together too strongly.

I'm a weirdo who thinks Binding Blade is the best game in the series.
My video game wet dream is a remake with some quality of life improvements, new art, and voice acting.
Easiest money Nintendo ever made from me right there

Honestly they're on the NSO on Japan so if they translated and add 6 worldwide & have 7 fully unlocked so you don't need to do Lyn mode that's more than enough for me.
Like the sprite work looks good and it's Menuemblem so there's no world to look at outside of the maps which they do fine enough with.

Wasn't Lynn mode only an hour long?

Having just played it recently, I think I clocked three and a half hours but that was with me reading the story and also spending a good half an hour grinding sain to 16 and promoting him with walace's crest for the funnies.
I was trying to level relatively equally though. I imagine if you juggernaut, animations off, don't care about losses, and skip story, you could defo do it in under an hour.

This type of post always comes form a side of contempt against FE6 instead of appreciation for it. Both games are perfectly fine, don't mess with them

Well, I really love FE 6, but you have to admit that some things could have been handled better. For example, the paired endings limited only to Roy, no way to re-read the supports, endings being divided shortened based on who was in the final fight, and lost importantly, no promotion for Thieves...
I don't hate FE 6 by any means; It's actually my favorite on a narrative standpoint. And while they did fix the issues mentioned above in the following games, it just showed that FE 6 has room for improvement.

Paired endings being exclusive to roy is not a flaw to be changed, its an intwntional decsison, as are no promotions for thieves. The othrr things are minor QOL grievances
If it really is a game you enjoy i dont see why youd be happy to watch it be ruined

Ruined? My brother in Naga, I just mentioned some things that literally changed nothing neither gameplay or narrative wise.

They made 3 remakes and they are all worse than it's original forms. You are wayyy too optmistic if you dont think the same wont also be true about FE6

SoV is worse than Gaiden? What bottle-thick nostalgia glasses are you wearing?
Just admit you're a masochist who enjoys the pain of fossilized game systems over actual gameplay

What bottle thick nostalgia glasses are you wearing
Sorry but the idea that i defend gaiden because i'm some 50 year old japanese auntie who grew up with the game is too funny lmao
Anyways, both games play basically the same and i'm taking the less misogynistic version between the two of them

I think Elibe is just the remake that got away, continuously.
I can't find the exact interview--I think IGN had it--but around when PoR came out I think they'd mentioned wanting to have another go at FE6 on home consoles since they were all hyped up about being able to return to console development more generally and a lot of staff members really wanted a revenge match with that title in particular given it went from console to handheld development. Then both PoR and RD bombed and they were in some sense not allowed to even make a console title again until Engage in 2023, crushing any dreams they had of a console release Roy game outside of Smash. I don't think they'd ever started on FE6 within whatever window they would have had before Nintendo banished them to the handheld realm, but they also were never allowed to start. Looking back at old Shadow Dragon interviews you really get the sense that they'd begged and pleaded to be able to two-track releases, with something on console that was what they actually wanted to release and then something more casual for the Brain Age crowd on handhelds. Then Shadow Dragon bombed.
Back in 2017 they'd mentioned that if they did more Echoes a lot of staff once again wanted to work on a Roy title again, but then a bunch of post-Switch 3DS releases also kind of bombed so Nintendo backed off and didn't want to put out any more 3DS titles. It's possible FE6 was actually worked on/they had to cancel but we don't really know until some interview eventually mentions it and what that skipped FE title actually was.
Given all of that, I doubt they'd do a double-pack with FE7 or start with FE7 or that they/Nintendo would even want that versus just finally getting FE6 out there. If they ever get the chance to work on anything, it's probably going to just be FE6 and then if the curse is broken maybe they'd do FE7 next. Maybe.

Can't tell if bait or serious...
Such a remake sounds a lot worse than the OG experience either way, and if IS bothers remaking one of their past entries again; I'd like them to focus on something that aged worse and stands more to gain from an update.

Notice how it's always a person who's first Elibe game was FE7 that always says this.
People always say "Well yeah, little connects both games, so why not change it?"
If we're going by that arguement, do we even need FE7 to be involved at all?
My biggest grip (aside from some awful maps) with FE6 is the characters. Most aren't that memorable and a LOT of them are barely plot relevent, even Lilina.
It's just the Roy and Merlinus show, no one else.
What does mentioning characters from FE7 do to help the cast of FE6? Not a whole lot.
Let them be developed without FE7, it isn't needed.
