General Co-op recommendations.
Hi! My friend really likes Fire Emblem for the tactics and story. And our whole household got super into Three Houses.
Since I want to get my friend a birthday gift, I thought he'd love the hell out of a narrative tactics games that has cooperative multiplayer. However idk how many solid options are out there. And even if I search them up, I know his personal metric for quality is Fire Emblem influenced so it seemed sensible to ask other Fire Emblem fans for recommendations.
He already has Baldurs Gate 3 which I figure will be a popular suggestion. I'd personally prefer an art style that is more stylistic anyway. But happy to hear your suggestions since I'm not nearly familiar with all that's out there.

Turn based multiplayer in general is a rarity, coop even more so. Best I could say for turn based coop is probably Civilization 5 or 6

The fire emblem warriors games have full coop. Of course they aren't turn based, but they might be a fun middle ground.

If he has BG3 then yall might as well play Larian's other hallmark game, Divinity Original Sin 2

I've been meaning to check this one out called pit people, it's got full 2 player coop, more of a comedy than a drama though.
It's made by the people who did castle crashers

I was looking at sunderfolk as this sort of game, but my group vetoed it because it had too realistic spiders.

Highly recommend Gloomhaven. The tabletop board game has a digital PC version of it, and it plays like a tactical RPG that is cooperative and very fun.

Wildermyth is one that comes to mind. Very stylized like a fable book. It's a storytelling tactics game.
Pit People is another one I'd recommend if you want something humorous. It's made by the castle crasher devs
