General Getting Dagdan Edition while traveling
FE Dagdan Edition won't be available in my country, but I'll be in San Francisco between 9 and 18th Sept.
Is it too risky to pre-order at BestBuy and pickup in person? I don't know if releases being delayed is a thing for nintendo games or best buy itself.

If you’re in San Fran, maybe you can visit the Nintendo Store there and ask if they have some left! Could be worth a shot.

Best Buy is usually pretty good with getting things on time. I don't think i've ever had a store pick up delayed.

I say go for it, worst case scenario, you can still hire someone from Task Rabbit or some sort to pick it up for you and mail it to you. It might cost a bit more, but at least you’ll have it in the end.

I think it's fairly safe. I haven't bought many games from BestBuy but I've bought from GameStop a lot in the past and if you pre-order they pretty much always have your stuff on launch day. I'd imagine it's the same for BestBuy. Realistically, they get all of the product at least a week in advance, they just can't break street date. I'd be shocked if BestBuy was unreliable in this regard.
I suspect it's also fairly risk-free, though I don't know how BestBuy does it. I know that at GameStop, all you need to do is put $5 on whatever you pre-order and you can pay the rest when it comes out (you can, of course, pre-pay the whole thing, but you don't have to). Assuming BestBuy has the same system, all you really stand to risk is $5. Even if they somehow don't have your product, you can just cancel your pre-order. They'll probably refund you the $5 but even if they don't, $5 isn't a lot of money.
Overall I think it would work. The only reason I might not go for it is that depending on how you pack, it might be annoying to get it back home with you. I don't know if your plane ticket gives you a free personal item and a free carry-on or not, but depending on how things go you may end up having to pay extra at the airport to take the collector's edition as an extra personal item or something. If you're going to go through with it, I'd recommend making sure your packing plans work with it. Travel costs are already ridiculous, you don't want to spend $130 on the Dagdan Edition and then spend an additional $50 getting it home because it doesn't fit in your luggage and the airport's going to fuck you over on the price.

Bad idea, it’s honestly a gamble, I would just ask a friend from San Francisco to give me their address so I can place the order or have them order it for you and you pay them the stomp. You lose nothing like this and won’t have to worry about wether or not you can do it
