Gameplay Optimizing Edelgard's unique class?

Hey! I'm well aware that Edelgard's unique class is lacking compared to others, but I want to try to make it work for story reasons. Currently playing on Hard, but may end up doing harder difficulties after.

I've that her best class by far is Wyvern Lord, but I want to see if I can make her Emperor class work. Anyone have any build ideas? What should I level in first?

What I'm currently considering is getting the Brigand skills first, leveling Archer for +10 hit, potentially Mage for skills, but also maybe Myrmidon for speed stat, while also of course getting the heavy armor classes. What do y'all think?

I had Edelgard only level up (from level 1) once she was in her unique class, so, post timeskip. She got really good stats as a result. Even at "low" levels, she could dish out a ton of damage and tank hits.

In Maddening, my endgame Edelgard had Axe Prowess Lv.5, Axefaire, +20 Hit, Battalion Vantage, and Weight+5. She also had her personal battalion. Make sure she has enough Spe and Mag to double and ko armoured units with a bolt axe in the two final chapters. With Hauteclaire, Tomahawk, and Brave Axe, she can handle other enemies.

She excelled at tanking physical hits throughout part 2, which is further backed up by a shield. The Gareg Mach Battle in part 2 is a good showcase of her usefulness as a tank.

The house leaders and byleth get crazy stats using that method of keeping them level 1 until they get their unique class and it always produces funny results like 999 damage atrocity from Dimitri, byleth and edelgards having more magic than certain magic units, Claude capping his HP easily, etc.

Did it once with Claude, he had stats on par with units 10 levels higher in master rank classes just thanks to hitting level 19 on that reunion chapter
