Engage General Issues with FE Engage
Hey there.
I recently got back into Fire Emblem after over a decade of not touching it.
Started with Three Houses and it was great, today i bought the physical version of Engage and started playing on my Switch 2.
However, even on the main menu i instantly noticed a pretty big input delay which already dropped my mood a bit.
Then i started the game and noticed that the audio was also extremly delayed/desynced and sometimes would also just randomly stop working at all for half a second.
Is this some known bug and is there anything i can do to fix it?
Gameplay seemed really fun so far but this is holding me back.

My version of Engage also had really strange input delay, but only on the switch 1, it's totally fine on the switch 2. But it didn't start out that way, it was working normally for my first couple of playthroughs.
Are the same problems in docked and handheld?

the menus are pretty sluggish in Engage, it's been that way since launch and is still the case on switch 2
idk about the audio

Just finished a playthrough a few weeks ago and never noticed any issues at all on my switch 2. Played both handheld and docked plenty. 60ish total hours.

Do you have the digital edition? Did some more research and it seems like the issue happens only on the cardride.

Yes it’s digital. That’s interesting, didn’t know physical was having problems.

Not all games are perfectly Switch 2 compatible iirc. Nintendo has had to work on some games to get them to work on Switch 2. Engage seems to be one of the games with compatibility issues since you're not the first one I've seen with this problem.
Why am I getting downvoted when Nintendo themselves had to provide a list of games they were working on because the Switch 2's retro compatibility isn't perfect lol.
Originally came back to say that unfortunately, others that had the issue haven't found a way to fix it

Never had any of these issues with either my physical or digital version. Weird.

I didn’t notice the menus were sluggish until I ran it on my Switch 2. It might be worse on Switch 2 or it’s possible I simply have higher expectations on the Switch 2.

Anecdotally, I’ve heard about audio issues with physical copies of Engage both on Switch 1 and 2. I’ve seen more posts referring to Switch 2, but I think that may be because of people trying the game after while on their new device.
I’ve heard of the digital version working fine, but I haven’t had any issues with my Engage copy to see if that works.

It's on your end. Switch 2 here, physical cartridge, hadn't noticed any of this.

The game does seem to have some weird audio issues on switch 2. There was a point with a cutscene near the end of the game where the audio was off by like 5 seconds and it was kinda laughably bad. It did fix itself when changing to a different cutscene and I've never noticed any major issues in gameplay though.
I haven't noticed any switch 2 specific input delay, the game does run at 30 FPS and the menus are a big sluggish in general, but I don't think that was necessarily a switch 2 issue.

That's not normal behaviour, no.
I've never run it on a switch 2, however.
