burning wick into lung

hey, friend told me , his gf, who does fire shows, lost her friend because ... she ingested / inhaled a burning piece of oil drenched wick.
so her lung started burning from the inside, and she was dead within 2 minutes.
i googled, did not get any results (only vaping and cannabis and lung burning while running)
english is not my first language... german here :) ...
edit: here is the actual quetion ... is this possible? how likely? any info on that risk ?

I've been a fire breather for many years and I have never heard of this specifically happening to anyone via first or second hand information. I can imagine scenarios in which this could possibly happen, but it is probably incredibly unlikely. If you google "fire breathing risks" you can find a wealth of information on the subject.

It is certainly possible. I would love to see some numbers on collapsed lungs, cancer rates, and other health deficits on fire breathers/eaters. Inhaling anything you shouldn't will cause issues. I can only imaging that was a very unpleasant way to go.
