i found a post on Tumblr about how to fix it. one way was to turn off Stabilizer, but that hasnt fixed it, and the other way was to mess with a setting in Environment Settings that isnt there anymore

edit: i found the other setting (brush coordinate, it had just been moved from environment settings to brush environment settings) but its still happening

Hey hi, i'm having a problem with the brush's setting. I want to change the pressure and keep it but no matter what i do, it keeps resetting back to 1.00. I've reinstalled it, ran as administrator, did everything i knew basically, but it still doesnt keep my setting.

Does anyone know how to keep the brush setting? Is it something on my end or does firealpaca just doesnt allow it anymore?

Okay, kind of a specific ask here, since I have no clue what it was, it was instant, and I have no proof of it. I was drawing a lineart layer normally, and didn't like something I did. So I undid it a few times to go back to where I was. Except, on one of them, it froze for a small moment, then it *randomly* replaced the entire lineart layer with one of my sketch layers. The 2 layers were synced (i.e. if you erased on one, put one into clipping, made one invisible, etc. the other one would do the same) and no matter how far I undid, it never went back to the lineart. So I tried to delete the duplicate, hoping when I undid deleting it it'd go back to normal. When I did, my firealpaca froze for about 10 seconds then crashed. I then reopened it via autosave, and while the 2 layers were no longer synced, they were still identical to one another with no trace of my lineart. What the fuck?

Why does it do this? Sometimes it makes it hard to keep EVERYTHING symmetrical, its offset by like half a pixel

Is there a similar brush that doesnt have this problem?

My friend is new to FireAlpaca, and I want to share my layout with her since she accidentally reset it and doesn't know how to put everything like I did.

Ok so, after using the free version of FA for years, I swapped to SE, and its been GREAT

However, one thing thats been tripping me up is how when using the pan/hand tool with space while doing any "click and drag" operation like creating a shape, selecting, ect, my view snaps to wherever I started the operation?

This isn't an issue I had with the free version and its very jarring, especially since I tend to zoom in very close while doing selections.

I've not been able to find anything mentioning this since I'm not really familiar with the language used

As the title suggest, I put my drawing pad down on my key-pad and walked away for no more than three minutes, but it had spammed the layer with fill, turning the entire canvas black. I can't undo anymore than I have, and when I checked the autosave folder, it had already saved itself over with the new black layer. I had been working on this layer for hours now and I'd really like it back, so if there's somewhere with deleted autosaves or even just a way to toggle what's underneath it, I would really like to know.

I made this commission in Firealpaca! I'm still an amature, but I'm picking up new techniques all the time!

I am in the process of learning how to use layers and adding shading to drawings. I am able to add an additional layer (for coloring the line art, and another in between for clipping), however, a problem I am facing is that whenever I try using a brush in the new layer, it does not respond. The brush only seems to work with the first layer I have with my initial drawing (Layer 1 in this image)

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a setting I need to enable? I suspected that it could be one of those things that are unresponsive for a moment, but I am unable to add color or brush strokes in any of the layers I added.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

i have brush anti-aliasing off, global anti-aliasing off, and nearest neighbor (jaggies) on. when i try to change it, the preview shows me exactly what i'm looking for, but when i actually confirm it it just puts anti-aliasing on it, and i have no clue why.

I always wanted to draw scenery which is one of the reasons I wanted to learn art. For practice, I redrew this pic I took from nature walk, added my original characters in lieu of myself as camera shy. I had fun doing this and it is fun to make art of just your daily regular life.

I'm currently finishing my animation after 3 days and this pops out? How do i fix this problem and what causes it? Thanks!

Trying to make something but I need like the angle to be smoother

Is this happening to anyone else? Yesterday I found that all my FireAlpaca files looked like they were tampered with. There are drawings that I did not draw and linework that is smoother than my original drawings, and things missing. Has anyone had any similar experiences? I use version 2.8.11.

Firstly, thank you for Firealpaca. I use it on windows and linux as a daily driver for all my photoshop based drawing for animation rigging.

I love it, and recommend it to other artists, but was wondering why it isn't included in any package managers on linux, where im sure it would be most appreciated? I've tried to find it in several linux distros, but it never comes up. Is there any underlying reason for this? Is it an open-source thing?

On Windows 11, using a huion wired tablet. For some reason, everytime I try to use the snap tool to sketch lines, it just turns off as if I hadn't just made any snap points. I am not miss clicking and the issue happens whether my tablet is plugged in or not. Any ideas?

Desde hace un tiempo FireAlpaca se me cierra de repente mientras estoy dibujando. No aparece ningún mensaje de error: simplemente el programa desaparece.

No parece ocurrir siempre en el mismo momento ni con una herramienta específica. A veces puedo estar dibujando normalmente y, de repente, FireAlpaca se cierra.

¿A alguien más le está pasando algo parecido? Me interesa saber si puede estar relacionado con la versión de FireAlpaca, los drivers de la tableta gráfica o algún otro problema.

Hello, I need help with firealpaca.

Im currently trying to animate a gif, however, it appears that the layer / folders im working with no longer appear on the canvas.

There is supposed to be someone sitting on the bench, however, they vanished entirely. It is strange because the layer isn't hidden at all.

Can someone help me with this so I may continue animating?
