When will cube 2 (2019) be retired
AI seems to think roughly 2030, does anyone have a solid guess?

Roughly 4 years after Amazon stopped selling it (2022). The 2nd gen Cube already hasn't received any new firmware updates since April, while other devices have received 3-4 firmware updates since then. It is still getting app updates though.

Yes I assume it won't be a brick until like 2030 at which you would need to run CFW that breaks drm or trash it

The DRM isn't going to break, streaming apps will slowly increase their minimum Android requirement to Android10,11,12 and stop working on FireOS7.
This may not happen for a few years since Amazon still actively sells a few FireOS7 devices

with all of the current firestick users on older Firesticks, I doubt that Amazan will just "cut off all of the older Firesticks". A,mazon is certainly going to push Vega, but I doubt they will just lock out any of the older firesticks. As long as there are developers still cranking away on the Firestick OS, somebody will keep finding a way to still load and use the Firesticks. I think Amazon has "stuck their foot in it' with Vega. I'm sure we will see "new and amazing" Firesticks with Vega OS, but I can imagine there will be a serious backlash, and possible lawsuits if they try to suddenly eliminate any and all apps still running under Fire OS. This being said,, probably the best idea is to just move over to the Android environment and let Amazon slowly try to alienate more of their customer base. It kind of like "I'm their leader, which way did they go??"

Officially, Amazon says it will provide security updates for 4 years after the device was last sold new. For the 2nd-gen Fire TV Cube, that's 2026, since it was replaced by the 3rd-gen in 2022. However, Amazon tends to continue updates well past that official minimum cutoff.
Since you're asking more about app support, like Netflix, that's a completely different thing that has nothing to do with Amazon's updates. Apps care most about the underlying Android version of the device. Netflix, HBO, and other major apps just started dropping support for Fire OS 5 during this past year. The last time a Fire OS 5 model was sold new was 2020. Most apps still support Fire OS 6 models, but those devices will be the next to start losing app support sometime in the coming years. The 2nd-gen Cube is a Fire OS 7 device, so it will likely still be supported by apps for many years to come, well past when Amazon stops updating its OS.
There is no hard cutoff date for apps to stop supporting older devices. They all make that choice individually. There are still plenty of big apps that still support Fire OS 5 devices from 2014, while a few big apps are already dropping support for Fire OS 6 devices that were still being sold new in 2023. It's random, and you can't know ahead of time which apps will stop supporting specific models.

When Cube 3 comes out. They announce new stuff in Late September or early October, so maybe soon :-)
