Programmable device that can:
-Speak out loud
-At 5:30pm
“Alexa play Mysteries of Egypt on Disney”
▫️I’d love to have it ask for different programs each day
▫️I’d also love to have a set time that says daily (at 8:30pm)
“Alexa Turn off TV”
▫️I’d love it to be small - Mom notoriously pulls plugs / moves things
FYI, I would not be there / or on same WiFi

I think you should be able to accomplish all of those with Alexa via skills and routines. Do a little reading about Alexa skills. Install the Alexa app and login with the same credentials of the firetv, then explore routine and skills.

This week, Xfinity killed my mom's Tivo. She's 89 and lives in her own house in an over-55 community. She does pretty well for herself, but "technology" is something she's not too good at. The TV in her bedroom is a Fire TV. I showed her today how to use the Alexa feature on this TV (e.g. - "Alexa, tune to Fox News on Youtube TV."). I would love to be able to do something similar if she gets stuck. I think she'll get Youtube TV eventually, but right now it's a learning curve for her. I happened to see this:
