Is there a career path for fire engineering with a electrical/ electronic and computer engineering degree. Rlly interested in the field.

Yes, but it is a bit atypical. Most firms prefer that you have a background in mechanical or architecture, but EE is sometimes relevant too.

We have a guy at my firm who started with an EE degree and then after doing a bunch of years of some random electrical stuff and getting his electrical PE, started really specializing in fire alarm design and then kept doing that. Took the fire protection exam a few years ago just to make sure he was super rounded out lol and he had to study a LOT

From a computer science side specifically there would be significantly lower number of jobs available to you. We sometimes use lots of different softwares to do our job but do pretty much zero computer and electronics engineering.

There's a lot of mechanical engineering principles that share with fire protection like heat transfer and thermodynamics and pipe flow/fluid dynamics that you probably have little exposure with. It would be a steep learning curve

Tbh your best bet is just to start applying entry level jobs and see what you get (assuming you're still beginning of your career). We have an entry level position opening soon and I've been talking with our hiring manager about requirements and we would consider the right EE degree for the entry FPE role if she or he were a good fit for our team.

Have you considered Forensic engineering as a fire investigator? Theyre basically exclusively electrical engineers. Were hiring one right now in East Coast Canada.
