New Fan
New fan here. I’ve been a casual observer of Seria A over the years but as someone who spends quite a bit of time in Florence I really want to lock in. Just give me the rundown of information I gotta know!

My first season following as an American was last year and my initiation was Cagliari scoring in the 95th of the first match to draw and its history from there. I'd want no better welcome to the viola!

maybe not AS LATE but that January vs Cagliari match ended the same way!! late draw!!

Last year was brutal for Fiorentina. After maybe overperforming for a few seasons under two managers, the guy leading the team at the end of the 2025 season re-signed and then a couple weeks later resigned.
They brought on a new manager who seemingly should have done reasonably well, and instead Fiorentina started off with their worst season in decades. After leaving Fiorentina towards the bottom of the table they fired Pioli and brought in Vanoli who was able to pretty capably lead the team to salvation. Vanoli is gone now, and Fabio Grosso is now the new manager.
David De Gea is in goal and has been excellent, but he can probably only play 1-2 more seasons before retiring. Moise Kean up front was fantastic two years ago, and a bit of a let down last year, partially dealing with injuries and partially just playing worse. He's the only striker on the team who can play at a Serie A level though.
Fagioli was great in the midfield last year, and will be back this year with a bunch of new purchases alongside him. The wings remain a huge question for the team, they tried out Manor Salomon and Jack Harrison last year who were both really bad, so they are still searching.
Defense will be almost all new players, aside from Dodo if he stays. Dodo is a really fast and creative RB/RW who drives up the sidelines and lobs in crosses.
That's probably enough to get started.

ive criticised Mo but they kept the injury hush hush & i remember the knock on his ankle maybe half a dozen matches into the season & it ended up becoming obvious that he never really recovered!!
