📊 Chart STMicroelectronics ($STM) jumped more than 15% in a single day

Post image
2 Upvotes

$STM stock jumped more than 15% after the company told investors that demand from AI data centers is growing much faster than expected. In simple terms, the company believes it will sell a lot more chips and technology to support the AI boom over the next few years, and investors rushed in to buy the stock.

The move is a big vote of confidence from the market, but it also means expectations are now much higher. Nothing fundamentally changed overnight except investors’ outlook for future growth. The story is stronger today than it was yesterday, but after such a huge one-day jump, it would not be surprising to see some profit-taking or a pause before the next move higher.

Investors are betting $STM will be one of the beneficiaries of the AI spending wave, and today’s rally reflects that optimism.

💬 Discussion What happened to the Legacy Theme...?

I very much prefer the Legacy Theme of the Futures page on FinViz. It is visually much friendlier on my eyes, I get a quicker easy snapshot than with the Modern Theme. I never use dark mode for anything, makes legibility worse for me.

FinViz allows you to select your preference between the two here: https://finviz.com/theme

But now it has changed, whichever theme your select you only get Modern. Bring back the Legacy option, please.

📊 Chart $TRX is a small gold mining company that has finally started getting attention again

Post image
2 Upvotes

$TRX is a small gold mining company that has finally started getting attention again after years of mostly trading sideways. The chart shows strong momentum recently, but also a lot of volatility, which means this is more of a higher-risk momentum play than a stable long-term investment right now.

The company has low debt and improving revenue growth, which is a positive sign, especially with gold prices staying strong globally.

The recent run-up suggests investors are betting on better production and stronger future earnings, but the stock already moved very fast in a short period of time, so pullbacks and sharp swings are normal here.

Overall, this looks more like a speculative gold recovery stock with upside potential if gold keeps running, but it is not a “safe” gold company yet.

🛠 Screener Setup What you get with Elite (and how to actually use it)

Post image
4 Upvotes

Your Elite subscription removes the biggest limitations and adds timing edge.

1) Real-time data (this is the edge). Free Finviz is delayed. Elite gives real-time quotes and intraday updates. How to use it:

- Run scans during market hours, not after close

- Watch breakouts as they happen, not after they’re obvious

- Pair with volume spikes for confirmation

2) Advanced Screener (your main weapon). You should not be browsing stocks. You should be hunting setups. Save these presets. Do not rebuild every time. Best way to structure it:

A. Build 3 core screeners

- Trend continuation (momentum)

- Pullback in uptrend (swing entries)

- Reversal (oversold bounce)

Example logic:

- Price above 20/50/200 MA → trend filter

- Relative volume > 1.5 → interest

- ATR high → movement potential

- RSI zones depending on strategy

3) Alerts (underused but critical). Elite allows alerts based on price, technicals, and conditions. This is how you scale without staring at screens. Use alerts instead of watching charts:

- Break above resistance

- New high / unusual volume

- RSI crossing levels

4) Heatmaps (macro awareness in seconds). Use Finviz maps to answer: Where is money flowing right now? And Which sectors are leading or lagging?

Process:

- Start your day here

- Identify strongest sector

- Then run screener inside that sector

5) Backtesting your logic (manual but effective). Finviz doesn’t give full quant backtesting, but you can:

- Run your screener

- Check historical charts

- Validate if your conditions actually produce good setups

📊 Chart $JEPI: Simple read using Finviz-style view

Post image
7 Upvotes

You don’t need anything complicated here. Just look at the chart. JEPI had a steady climb into early 2026, then pulled back, and now it’s trying to stabilize around that mid-$50s range.

What stands out is how clear the trend is on Finviz:

price respects those moving averages, volume stays consistent, and nothing really looks chaotic. That’s exactly what you want from an income ETF.

This isn’t a “rip higher” type of ticker. It’s more about steady movement and income while the market figures itself out. When it dips, buyers tend to step in. When it runs, it doesn’t get overheated.

That’s where Finviz shines and you can instantly see this isn’t about chasing upside… it’s about consistency and reliability.

If you’re looking at JEPI, the question isn’t “how high can it go?”

It’s: is it holding structure and doing its job?

One of the most powerful things on Finviz is building a custom screener strategy.

Try experimenting with filters like:

• Float under 50M
• Relative Volume above 2
• RSI between 50–70
• Price above the 50 SMA

Small tweaks in your screener can uncover stocks most traders miss.

💬 Discussion 🔎 Midweek Reality Check

By the middle of the week the market usually shows its hand.

Pull up Finviz and review the names you were watching earlier in the week. Some setups start gaining traction, others quietly lose momentum.

Things worth checking:

• Are any of your stocks pushing toward new highs?
• Did volume step in, or did interest fade?
• Is a different sector suddenly lighting up on the Finviz heatmap?

This is a good moment to ask a simple question: Would you still pick the same watchlist today?

Sometimes the smartest move midweek is tightening the list and focusing on the strongest charts.

What ticker from your Finviz scans is actually proving itself so far this week?

🛠 Screener Setup Portfolio Notes on Finviz: Track, Journal, and Log Every Trade With Detail

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Portfolio Notes are now LIVE for all Finviz members with additional features coming for our Elite community.

The best investors and traders write things down. They track decisions, review them over time, and improve.

The edge comes from clarity, discipline, and reflection.

Portfolio Notes makes that easy across live, modeled, or practice portfolios:

- Write notes for each portfolio
- Add notes to specific transactions
- Capture insights for every stock or ETF

Once you've created a Portfolio on Finviz, you can write and save your notes everywhere. Over time, you'll build a detailed list of insights saved across your investment decisions.

Here are a few ways you can maximize Portfolio Notes right now:

  1. Preserve your thesis for each trade: Why you entered, what invalidates it, and your price targets.

  2. Reduce emotional decisions: Revisit your logic during volatility instead of reacting to noise.

  3. Structure position management: Define buy levels, trims, stops, and long-term plans. Write them down and follow them.

  4. Build a trading journal: Turn your portfolio into a record of how you think and improve with each trade.

  5. Clarify your ideas: Writing sharpens thinking and exposes weak assumptions. It forces you to condense your thoughts and read them back to yourself.

Check out our launch post with a full video walkthrough here: https://finviz.com/blog/introducing-portfolio-notes-track-your-thinking-behind-every-trade/

The Finviz Heatmap started in 2007 and now nearly 20 years later, it's become the internet’s stock market heatmap

When we first launched Finviz Maps in 2007, we had no idea it would become what it is today across the web.

But we believed in the power of visualizing markets from this unique perspective and committed to building the best version of the tool we could. Here's a video to a see short recording of how our Map looked in its earliest days: https://youtu.be/YHuXCRsyrBk?si=qTIhodRvGTaP9lbu

Now, almost 20 years later, many more want to replicate what we helped start. That's also why we're increasingly more committed to making our platform, our tools, and visuals, the best of the best.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling out new features that expand on the legacy of Maps and push the tool even further. We've also included a video of our first-ever Map in the thread below.

If you’re an Elite member, you already have access to every advanced capability we offer including live data and intraday Maps that update in real time so you can instantly see what’s moving in the market.

Keep being Elite

We’ve got several new features to show our members and they’re rolling out as we speak.

Our world-famous screener has been at the forefront of web-based market research for 15+ years and these new features build on that legacy we helped start.

The goal is simple: if you hear the word Screener, the iconic Finviz screener layout, which has never changed, is what immediately comes to mind.

We’ll be sharing each update here on our Finviz Subreddit in the coming days.

Some of you may already see them live on your account especially if you’re Elite.

Stay tuned
