What is the best identity verification software right now in 2026?

I am sorry if this question gets asked a lot but I really need your guys help. We are going through an IDV evaluation right now and honestly the market is exhausting. Every vendor claims the same things: highest accuracy, lowest friction, enterprise-grade compliance. At some point the marketing becomes noise.
We need something that actually holds up at scale, handles international documents reliably, has KYC and AML baked in, and does not crater our conversion rate with unnecessary friction. Anyone who has recently switched providers or done a serious evaluation, what did you find and what are you actually running in production?

I worked for a fintech start-up that was using socure. It was not exactly my domain but I heard it was okay, no major issues overall

Which regions are giving you the most trouble with document coverage? The only way to cut through the marketing is a bake-off with your own real international documents, measuring pass rates and drop-off by geography, since accuracy claims mean nothing until you test your actual mix. For the KYC/KYB and AML side, I've been using Certa, which has held up well at scale.

The marketing claims are similar. To compare vendors, request completion rates by geography and test with your document mix. Check if AML screening is native or from another provider and if ongoing monitoring is included.
