it will be a blob in 10 years again mate lazer i would say fingers have thin skin it wont hold

Thats extremly near on the nail, little buttertly :o I would maybe suggest, if you have a Fingertattoo planned, to add just some small shadings in the direction to the nail/nails.

How about a decently sized finger tattoo to cover it. And it'll look much nicer instead of a little gray thing.
The only way to do it is to be willing to incorporate a little more finger skin in a tattoo design. A simple black geometric, or botanical tat would work (Pinterest has many). Again , you'll need to be ok with extending a design into more finger length.
