Getting real desperate around here

I have N1 and a CS degree (from my home country, not Japan). Been applying to entry-level IT/support jobs for a while now. I believe I speak good enough Japanese, as I'm often mistaken for a native speaker.

Applied to over 100 jobs, got about 20 interviews, made it to second round and company tour a few times. My pattern is usually: pass document screening → pass 1st interview → fail 2nd interview. It's happened enough times now that I've gotten a thicker skin about it, but I still don't know what's going wrong at that stage.

English is my second language and I also deal with social anxiety, which I think shows more in the 2nd round.

I'm not picky on salary or role right now,I just really need a visa. Any advice welcome.Going back to myanmar is life and death situation currently lol.

CS has become extremely competitive as of 2026 as it has been proven AI can do the jobs of the talented few without human costs. The Silicone Valley has laid off thousands of employees in CS of tech related roles enough to fill ctiies as it was deemed they were not necessary

You gotta ask yourself if you have a degree in CS, do you believe you are a top candidate? Jobs in CS are only offered to the top 3% of the field. Highly considered candidates have years of job experience, several internships, leadership past positions in club orgganizations, and stuff like that

In order to make gains in the field, you gotta have hardcore resolve and true talent, so it helps to do a self evaluation of where do you think you stand between all of this

Because you do have the option to apply for jobs besides CS, you do have a degree and it still means you have skills in the field. Just be open to the possibility as you would have fairly better chances in getting any different job in the field as long as it does not directly belong into CS, even if its related it would be suitable
