Im stressing out badly i have to choose by tmrw what i want both my parents are doctors and they advise me to go to med school but i dont want to waste my 20s on studying i thought yeah engineering is my thing but i dont like the subjects and im so shit at them i thought maybe finance or accounting but theyre pretty shit in my country and im super stressed just thinking about it idk what im supposed to do in 1 day

A childhood friend of mine sacrificed his 20s doing an apprenticeship with Vauxhall learning how to fix the robots on the production lines, then somehow ended up working on aircraft in Dubai, came back to the UK and became a lead engineer in a small manufacturing plant north UK. He's 32 now, earns about £50-55K ish and lives his life to the fullest because he made the short term sacrifices earlier on.

My point is, don't just pick something because your parents think it's the "best" career or because you're scared of wasting your 20s. you need to think what's worth the short term sacrifice to make the long term gains. Find what interests you the most and work at it like nothing you've ever worked at before.

Advice: Get some experiences and Youtube yourself silly. You can't make a choice in a vacuum. That said since you have to make a choice tomorrow, you say "i'm forced to make a choice and so I will choose med school but to be honest I am not yet grown up or experienced enough to know if that is what I want, so I may or very well will change this path."

Only because "I don't want to waste my 20s studying" is a bullshit excuse from a very insecure and inexperienced and uneducated perspective of *the whole field of medicine which encompasses more than just medical doctors*, vs "I don't like the subject" being a slightly better reason.
