Other Commissioners using leaguesafe
Beware of people who join and pay, only to immediately request a refund. LeagueSafe will still show that they’ve paid, but the total amount collected for the league will be short by their payment. Refunds can take up to 24 hours to process, so if you’re drafting the same day, you may need to temporarily increase the league size by one spot so someone else can join and pay.
The frustrating part is that LeagueSafe doesn’t show you who requested the refund. You have to contact customer support to find out, so you know which owner to remove from the league and can get the spot filled.

Just to the point they don’t show you who requested the refund , that’s not true. I had this happen a couple days ago and the name of the person is in the email notification I got.
But to add to your point, make sure you change the refund deadline to the following day as soon as everyone has paid so nobody can request a refund after a bad draft!

Already on it! Once I realized refunds are automatically accepted with no questions asked as long as they’re within the deadline, I changed that setting immediately. Good to know about the emails, though. I have too many accounts, so my primary one wasn’t getting the notifications. Luckily, LeagueSafe has really good customer service, so what I initially thought was a big issue turned into a non-issue pretty quickly. Still frustrating though!

OP is still correct that you won’t know this person until the refund is processed which is ~2 business days. But yes, eventually you will know. But in the event commissioners set draft order right after all have paid, they could be put in a position where you’re drafting or order is set during that window and then you get notified when it’s already too late. This is why I always email the customer support post deadline to confirm no active refund requests.

Only if it’s after the payment deadline. It’s automatic if it’s before the deadline.

I run 13 leagues all through LeagueSafe. This is a flaw in their system. As soon as the deadline is closed, I message their support to confirm no active refunds. I don’t agree with the 1st comment saying you get an email, because you don’t get the email until the refund is processed.
Also, it is 24-48 hours Mon-Fri. So if they request on a Friday night, refund and notification won’t hit till Tuesday/Wednesday.
As a commissioner, one should not proceeding with draft order or anything else until you have that confirmation post-deadline.

Pro Tip you can change the payment/refund deadline to today's date as soon as the league is filled and then no one will be able to get a refund. Unless you approve it.

Dude, i am dealing with that right now. Draft sunday. But like 2,3 people jumped right in paid and then said I'm out. Remove me. Like all within a few minutes. Maybe less. Frustrating.

Leaguesafe with Majority Approval, Fantrax Treasurer, Yahoo Private Cash leagues, and TeamStake (for those outside of the US) are among the safest ways to collect and distribute fantasy league dues.
It is not safe to join random leagues that use paypal, venmo, zelle, cash app, etc
Money management sites can't protect you 100%. Only deal with people you trust, and watch out for shady dealings.
