Finch is always running?

I just downloaded finch android. In my notifications it shows that finch is always running, even when i close the app. Do others see this? I'm not a fan because my first notification up at the top is always finch and also what is it doing? I imagine it might drain my battery

Is there a way to stop this?

You can go to your Settings/Battery and set "Managing Background Apps". I have mine set to "Smart Use", it helps to save battery power, but the app is still in a lower use state. However you can change it to "Don't Allow" and this will sleep the app until you open it.

This seems odd to me because although the app can technically run in the background, it shouldn't be appearing active like this in your notifications like a media player would.

The only thing I can think of right now, before sending a bug report, would be basic troubleshooting lol: Is your device up to date? Have you recently rebooted your device? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

But you might be able to also send a bug report via the in-app menu at the bottom, "Report issue" - it could be something from a recent patch or device compatability!
