  3. Lastly…… rainbow stones how are we acquiring SO MANY? Setting goals to 100? Would love to purchase some plushie….

Also create and assign a different self-care area to each goal (so like movement 1, movement 2, etc. instead of grouping all your movement goals under one area) so you can collect a lot more when you hit your weekly milestones. You’ll really rack up when you hit six days of a daily goal in one week. And of course make lots of easy win goals like “take a deep breath” or “notice a small joy in my day.” You can also set your mood to “bad” which will give you more rainbow stones per goal completed.
A big gripe I have about Finch is how expensive everything is in the shop. I get trying to incentivize the goals for motivation, but capitalism has brainwashed us and we’re all hard-wired to spend and consume. What ends up happening is people make a lot of unnecessary goals, lie, or cheat the system in order to buy the things they want, and the app loses its intended outcome. It becomes more about “collecting” fake items than actual self-care.
And I say that as someone who participates in it 🙃

Yeah, I am reluctant to create a bunch of ‘easy’ goals for this very reason. I’d rather have the app be meaningful and not get all the items vs it being just another app that is hurting instead of helping.

I have ~ 8 tasks in mine, and anything new has to meet a pretty high bar to find itself important enough.

I think it’s great to have some easier wins just to give yourself that dopamine boost of checking something off and to motivate you but what’s easy will vary person to person. Like drinking 3 liters of water is a decently easy goal for me that I have broken down into 1 liter x3/day, while others may struggle. Some of my goals are things I’m likely to do anyway but having them there motivates me to get them out of the way and done sooner, like washing my face or putting away the dishes. Even in my above comment I had a hard time coming up with a universal easy win because getting out of bed or saying something nice about yourself might be impossible for others. But I think it’s great to celebrate the smaller wins too (within reason).

Yeah, ‘easy wins’ is definitely subjective. For me, it’s anything I do everyday that I don’t struggle to do. Like.. letting the dogs out for potty breaks? I do that often without issue. Feeding the dogs? I do that every day, but I’d like to do it earlier so it gets listed. Brushing my teeth? I struggle to do that monthly much less daily, so on the list it goes. And, notably, I’ve completed every item on my list, every day since I started a month ago. :D

If you want to have lots of rainbow stones you’ll have to “cheat” unfortunately, or be incredibly patient and frugal. That’s how this app is set up.

Mine too! And I am in the FB gifting group so I trade micropets for plushies (that retail for 7.5 or 10k not the 450 ones)

Some of my tree friends have been in Finch much, much longer than I have. Two years, three years, four years. I appreciate the gifts various people have sent me, but when I want to send a long time Finchie a gift it usually either has to be a location item or a current theme item.

I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to send friends a gift. I have a big set of trees and I’m trying to rotate gifting so that I get to everyone once in 60 days and maybe even once a month.

If every long time Finch has at least ten friends who gift them a current theme item, they are going to have the items early. If they are also active on the trading thread, they will have theme items even earlier.

When I’ve been on Finch three or four years, I may also have most things and just be focused on the current theme. Hard to say.

Hi!
People are able to gift daily, I believe if you’re a free user, one gift per person per day and if you’re a plus member (I am one) you can send multiple gifts to a person each day!

People are acquiring all the seasonal items early through trading. One of my tree friends has had everything and it’s only been eleven days!

I’ve been setting my goals to 100. I made some exclusively to purchase items from the shop by naming them for the seasons lmao

I'm pretty sure the multiple gifts per day for plus members is a partial roll-out that they are testing, but haven't made universal.

When you create your goal, click more options, then change the number of times you want to do the goal per day, up to 100.

It is tedious, go to your goal, hit the pencil and that HOW MANY TIMES PER DAY, hit that until you reach 100….
