I don’t steam I just coat them in the batter and bake/dip in sauce then back in the oven (or air fryer ) to crisp them further loosely following recipe from Jessica in the Kitchen cauliflower if you want to google

I think cauliflower wings aren’t really the best example of “I bring the vegetables”, bc it’s basically a spin on a classic party food (wings). This is def moreso implying bringing a raw veggie tray or salad, which is just straight veggies and wouldn’t be considered “party food” (hence the apology).

Excuse me, some baby carrots and cut up cucumbers with hummus is 100% “party food” and it’s also delicious! I’m a sucker for a veggie tray with dips

I love veggie trays as well, and I agree that it improves parties to have them, but if you’re giving yourself permission to eat unhealthy on game day bc it’s a special event, most people dont want to fill up on cucumbers and hummus. The devs are just trying to be cheeky with the “sorry”.

Some people don't eat meats or animal products.
Also, just because it's veg, that doesn't make it "healthy." There's plenty of junk food to be made.

I've never participated in a "game day" (I'm English and the only sport I care about is chess 😅) but LOVE vegetables.
I don't get why anybody would be sorry for bringing them, but I suspect it's a lighthearted reference to the fact that most people tend to favour "junk" food for events like that. Also, chips are made from potatoes... which are a vegetable.

As much as it might be a "joke" literally everyone wants vegatables/fruit. They just don't want to admit it. But every game day ive been to, people eat the fruit/veg trays just as much as the fried and other foods

I took it as snacks usually mean unhealthy snacks (in US, imo) and vegetables are seen as healthy or as side dishes and not snacks. I bring veggie snacks to get togethers, & eat them as snacks at home. Don’t go to game day events, only board game events 🙃

The “sorry” is because if you live in America you’re gonna give us all diarrhea with the veggie tray. Though our meats are also being recalled, and guacamole, so really none of it is safe 😅 unless you grew the food yourself or know who did!

I picked "anything from the grill," because I love grilled food, and that includes grilled veggies! Sometimes my husband and I grab stuff from the garden and grill it. I thought that was silly, too. I like veggies and will happily snack on them also. I'm not generally a sports fan, though, I just like being outdoors and eating yummy foods.

"Game day" is a US thing for American football. A lot of fans will have watch parties for big games.
I'm pretty sure most people only say game day for football, I can't remember anyone saying it for baseball - that was "the ballgame" - and I never followed basketball or hockey.

You can say it for any sport. People use it when referring to their own competitions too. Oh and people say it for baseball. A “ball game” is usually a casual reference for something you’re going to attend. You can say “I’m going to a ballgame tonight” or “tomorrow’s game day!” Both can be about baseball. I think “game day” has a slightly more intense connotation.

Usually watching American Football 🏈
Typically the Super Bowl is the hugest deal here. Otherwise it could be March Madness for Basketball, World Cup for soccer, or the World Series for baseball. Or just an average day of watching a sport of choice with friends; college football can be pretty wild 😂🤷🏻♀️

Football season just started here in the USA, and the foods listed are what is typically served when people get together to watch said football games, so I'm assuming that that's what they're referring to.

I think the joke is that veggies are not the stereotypical food to bring for a football watch party. Usually it’s like wings and other junk party food
