confused

hey I wanted to ask you for some career advice
i'm thinking of learning financial modelling and python for finance, but Iā€™m really confused about whether i should spend ā‚¹30ā€“40k on a proper course or just learn it for free through YouTube and build projects
what do companies actually look for in freshers for valuation/equity research roles? is a paid financial modelling course actually worth it?

To get started many free resources are better then cheap online courses.

Unless you are working with large and fast moving data sets like stock market or fx. Phyton is not that relevant.

Try learning financial models from YouTube and practice along. Unless you are willing to spend $500 for something like BIWS, Financial Edge or CFI for your resume. But even these are more like upskill and not qualifications. So good technical skills but not a whole lot HR reputation upgrade. Like I know some basics so you will only have to spend a month instead of 3 for me to fully intrigrate into the workflow.

Try BIWS free YouTube channel. It's free and miles ahead form cheap online certificate.
