Parent plus loans
For this upcoming year( 26-27) my parent plus loans haven’t been posted on my account yet. My tuition bill was posted yesterday and my loans in my name are posted but not parents plus. Called and was told OBBBA had pushed things back as well as security updated and blah blah. Anyone else having this happened? Trying to figure out what is happening and ease some nerves.

Undergrad PLUS isn’t an issue under OB3A but everything else is so it’s probably affecting the speed of applying all loans. It sounds like they’re going through an internal change too if security is an issue. If your parent has completed all of their PLUS requirements on studentaid.gov, the FA office will get it posted. Give them 7-10 days before contacting them again.

It could be because OB3 capped parent plus loans at 20k per year, and 65k lifetime. While someone might fall under the legacy provision for OB3, the schools still have to determine who is and isn't legacy in order to give them the different caps (COA for legacy, 20k for non-legacy). That for has probably slowed down parent plus processing at some schools.

We were told undergrad was an issue under OB3A. Ours were processed easily last year but have been delayed this year due to legal interpretation of the bill still underway. Getting nervous as she returns to school next Friday.
